Investing in European infrastructure debt

Private sector financing of infrastructure assets in Europe is well established and understood. Supportive domestic and regional policy frameworks are expected to underpin continued private sector involvement. The efficient funding of this investment depends on the availability of debt capital which has traditionally been provided by the region's banks. Regulatory changes, higher costs of funding and restricted access to capital have impacted upon the ability of banks to provide longer tenor debt.

This session will discuss the opportunity this creates for pension funds in a challenging return environment for lower risk investments.

Tim Cable, Director - Infrastructure Debt, Hastings Fund Management
